Choosing an Organization for your Football player

The experience of team sports is a significant part of any child's life's. Whether or not that experience is positive or negative depends on many variables. It is very important that you understand the environment that you are placing your child in.
Organizations and their staff have wildly varying philosophies and approaches to achieve what they consider success. The following are a few simple questions to get you started.
Key Questions:
  • Is the team a member of a National Organization? e.g. AYF or Pop Warner
  • Is the team a member of a Recreational League? e.g. Boys & Girls Club
  • Is the team a 'competitive' or 'recreational' team?
  • What is the respective team's Minimum Play Rule?
  • Are the Coaches certified by a National Governing Body e.g. USA Football, AYF, Pop Warner, NFHS
  • Does the Team implement Heads-Up tackling?

This list is not meant to be a complete list, but they are key to finding a 'home' for your Child to participate and enjoy Football.
